Ugh. This was the first Balogh I ever read - it took me years to give her books another try but I'm glad I did.I came across this novel over the weekend and after being astounded that I still had it, I found myself flipping through it. Balogh is admittedly a good wordsmith, and I did like this book at first. I kept hoping that Freddie would change and grow as a person, but he just didn't seem to. I'm not one of those readers for whom the topic of infidelity is completely taboo, so I could take the cheating after marriage if he actually learned and grew in his relationship with Clara, but the "well, I'm back but I can't guarantee you that I'm not going to go whoring around again" finale just wasn't enough.
