Lynn Spencer - All About Romance

3.5 stars This books tells a multi-layered story and the creepiness of it builds very gradually, both qualities I appreciated. Dana has come home to Black Bear, Minnesota and has to confront the messy relationships and family secrets she left behind as a teenager. She probably never would have come home were it not for her teenage niece calling her to let her know that her sister is desperately ill and needs a kidney transplant. Once in Black Bear, Dana learns that there is a little more to the story. Her sister thought that something might be poisoning the residents and when she got sick, she was trying to figure it out. Dana continues trying to solve the mystery of what is happening in Black Bear and by the end, I have to admit that thinking through the implications of everything she was finding did creep me out somewhat. However, I also found my attention wandering as I read the book because I really never felt all that attached to any of the characters and the slow buildup of suspense in the story was way too slow.
